Humdinger Kennel was started in 2018 when we brought home Rhen. We had wanted a versatile dog to play sports with and begin our journey in conformation. Growing up with shorthairs, I knew I wanted a bird dog, but something a little different. I decided a German Wirehaired Pointer would be a good fit for what I wanted.
We are passionate about preserving the breed and staying true to the breed standard. We strive to produce sound, healthy dogs of reliable temperament with great work ethics. These dogs should be hardy and versatile. We are members of the GWPCA, NAVHDA, and AKC.
All puppies are raised with puppy culture, ENS, and AviDog protocols. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to reach out.

What's with the name?
You may be wondering about our name... We bought our first wirehair from Ripsnorter Kennel. They have been our biggest supporters and our mentor through it all. We wanted something to acknowledge their hand in all of this. Since the majority of the "rip-" words have already been used, we decided to go with something a little different. Humdinger is synonymous with Ripsnorter and in the dictionary, it means "a remarkable or outstanding person or thing of its kind." We thought this seemed very fitting of our goals and efforts in the breed.
